Risk It by Jennifer Chance

Risk It by Jennifer Chance

As dominating in business as he is in bed, Rand Sterling Winston, IV, always gets what he wants. And even before he realizes that she’s scammed him into paying triple the cost for her friend’s painting, he wants Dani Michaels. To catch her alone, Rand demands she personally deliver his purchase. The attraction between them is immediate and electric, and he knows she feels it, too. So when the part-time petty thief rebuffs his advances, he gives her a choice: a night in jail or an evening with him.

Despite her checkered past, Dani has never met someone like Rand: brooding, intense, and oh-so tempting. Only a man with a broken soul could make losing control feel this dangerous. Still, when Rand proposes a no-strings, no-holds-barred affair, Dani’s more than a little intrigued. It’ll be the trickiest con she's ever run and a chance to indulge her steamiest fantasies—nothing more. But as their encounters grow increasingly intimate, Dani uncovers a vulnerable side to Rand’s steely exterior . . . and opens her heart to the ultimate risk.

This book was great! I did not want to put it down! There were twists and turns, ups and downs, comedy and romance. A great, well rounded package. I love Dani and love Rand even more! The relationship they have is great! I found myself completely absorbed in this book from beginning to end.

Kneel, Mr. President by Lauren Gallagher

Kneel, Mr. President by Lauren Gallagher

Secret Service agent Kent Sinclair, head of POTUS security, thought himself prepared for every contingency. Until the First Lady—a woman who barely tolerates his presence—approaches him with a request that startles the hell out of him.

Carlene Broderick is frightened. With the weight of the country and impending war on his shoulders, her husband, James, is buckling under the strain. The key to helping him cope is the name he calls out in his sleep—and it’s not hers. It belongs to his fellow ex-SEAL team buddy. His ex-lover. Kent.

Without hesitation, Kent plunges into treacherous emotional territory, only to realize it’s not really him that James needs. The Commander in Chief needs to give up complete control in the bedroom.

To relieve that much pressure, Kent and Carlene must work together and declare a truce that rapidly heats up into something more. Something that leaves James caught deep in forbidden territory—torn between his beloved wife and the man he’s never stopped loving.

This book was not quite what I expected. It was fun and entertaining but I was expecting a little more adventure. The characters were good, but nothing spectacular. All in all it was a good read for a rainy day but nothing too intriguing.

I Choose You by Charles A. Bush

I Choose You by Charles A. Bush

Emily Robertson is fully content with her life. She was valedictorian of her Yale undergrad class, is ranked top of her Yale Medical School class, and unlike her promiscuous roommate, she would rather spend her free nights reading Jane Austen than out partying. Undeniably, the lifelong promise that she made to her dying mother to become a doctor, is firmly in her grasp and she is focused not to let anything or anyone deter her from fulfilling it. That is, until the last day of her second year of medical school, when her friends surprise her with a summer vacation to England. While in England, she breaks one of her many sacred rules and falls for, Jude, a professional footballer with an appetite for wild parties and beautiful women. Over the course of their improbable summer romance, Jude introduces Emily to a new world of excitement and spontaneity, leaving her to question the secluded life she had always known, while Emily shows Jude the depths of the human heart and all the joy it can bring. However, once the summer ends, their love is tested by distance, social class, and the sacrifices needed to make enduring love blossom. And when fate intervenes by sending their lives spiraling on separate paths, will a memorable summer romance years ago be enough to bring them back together?

Looking for a sweet romance to read? Tired of all the "romance books" that are full of  "sex scenes" and no real story? This book is perfect for you. Seeing Emily and Jude fall in love is very sweet. Watching them figure out how to sacrifice and make a long distance relationship work is very refreshing. There were several phrases that were used that I did not understand and that slowed me down a bit, but other than that, I really enjoyed this book. The surprise ending is unheard of and really threw me for a loop but I will not spoil anything here. I hope you all enjoy this book as well!!!

Force of Attraction by D. D. Ayres

Force of Attraction by D. D. Ayres

A seasoned K-9 officer with the police in Maryland, Cole Jamison has left her old life behind her. With a new home and a new partner--a protective canine named Hugo--Cole is ready for fresh challenges. A crucial position on an important drug task force is exactly what she wants…until she discovers her gorgeous, infuriating ex-husband will be the DEA agent in charge.

Agent Scott Lucca may be a pro when it comes to undercover assignments, but this job is daunting even for him. Posing as a happy couple on the dog competition circuit means he and Cole need to get a lot closer than they've been in years. Playing a live-in couple should seem like a walk in the park compared to tracking a brutal criminal, but suddenly nothing could be more dangerous than the passionate fire they've rekindled

This book was slightly different from the normal romance. There was the typical lost lover come back and the old fights and make up but here there was a little more excitement. Being thrown into this undercover assignment as a couple was great and I enjoyed it alot.

As far as the mystery portion, I was able to figure out "who did it" really early in the book. That is my only complaint. I felt like it was really obvious and I was hopeful that there would be a twist. There was not.

Game On by Gabra Zackman

Game On by Gabra Zackman

Part caper, part romantic comedy, this hilariously entertaining book in the Bod Squad series features a sassy and sexy undercover operative, Susannah “Legs” Carter, and her Ocean’s Eleven–style team of private investigators.

From Washington, DC, to Paris, Legs is tailing Charles Oakley Palmer III, a white-collar criminal she’s determined to bring to justice. But will romance or betrayal blossom along the way? Find out in the first in a sizzling new series about a team of highly skilled investigators who go undercover to catch criminals—while juggling romance, world travel, and danger around every corner.

This book was very exciting and funny. I laughed so hard from start to finish. "legs" was a great character who kept finding herself in sticky situations. The story line was great, the ending was fantastic and there was never a dull moment.

SEAL's Desire by Elle James

SEAL's Desire by Elle James

Navy SEAL Remy LaDue wants Mitchell Sanders, but hasn't made a move since he slept with her the night of his buddy, her former boyfriend's funeral. A year later, his plan to be her Valentine date runs amuck when he finds her undercover as a stripper at a local club.
NCIS agent Mitchell Sanders never wanted to settle, dedicated to her job and justice is finally ready to commit to the SEAL she accidentally fell in love with. When her friend, a female navy officer, goes missing she puts her love life on hold and goes undercover to find her friend, only to discover her SEAL is back in town and threatening to blow her cover.
Remy and Mitchell join forces to find her friend and uncover a human trafficking organization in the darkest heart of Virginia Beach while their attraction for each other burns hotter than the sun.

I found this book to be fun and entertaining. It has a good story that is based on things that REALLY do happen in this world. Everyone needs to read stories like this and become aware of their surroundings. I felt like it was very honest and true but it was toned down ALOT. The real life situations are much more harsh than what was portrayed in this book and I do wish it would have been a little more realistic. But all in all, it was a good read. I enjoyed the comedy mixed throughout and the sparks between Remy and Mitchell.

He’s one more in a long line of people who wants the land she inherited, and suddenly he’s everywhere she goes. Hailey can’t get the broad-shouldered, dirty-talking, dead-serious man out of her head. Or her life.

Sawyer’s not above using his skills in the bedroom to try to convince her to sell, and Hailey is more than willing to let him. Their pleasure-only arrangement works…until emotions get in the way. But Sawyer has a secret he’s convinced will have Hailey hating him forever, and Hailey’s not willing to risk loving anyone she could lose.

This book is not holding my attention. I really want it to be good but I am having a hard time getting into it. The characters are not really interesting, the story is just dragging in my opinion. I would love to know what you think though, so please leave a comment!
