Eleven On Top

Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich is phenomenal. Lula gets into trouble and needs Stephanie to bail her out,  more cars destroyed, Ranger, Morelli and cuffs. Need I say more?

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I found myself giggling from the first page through the last page. I could not put it down. I had to read the whole book in one sitting!!!!

Stephanie decides that she wants to get a safer job. The job hunt is entertaining as she realizes she is not good at anything. Lula steps into Stephanie's shoes and becomes a bounty hunter. Words can not describe how funny this is, you simply HAVE to read it and find your own words. Feel free to share them!

Ten Big Ones

Stephanie finds out where Ranger lives, goes there and STAYS there! Yum!

In Ten Big Ones by Janet Evanovich, we get to finally find out how Ranger lives. I was not really surprised with any of it. It all seemed to fit his character and my expectations. Personally, I thought Janet Evanovich did an amazing job describing his apartment and the building. I was not left with questions, I felt like every piece was explained in detail. I am not going to go into the details in case any of you have not read it yet.

I also find myself amused with how Lula has slowly pushed herself into a position as Stephanie's sidekick. It has been a slow and funny process that never disappoints.

Bedtime Bible and Devotional

As I was tucking my son in tonight and reading him his stories, I decided to share his Bible with you all. This is a GREAT Bible for my five year old son and I am so glad I found it. There are more that 200 Bible stories and 50 devotionals in this book. Bible Stories retold by Gwen Ellis and Illustrated by Steve Smallman And Jeffrey Ebbler.

Here is what I like, the stories are broken up. What does that mean? For example The Story of Isaac is told over several pages with a title on each page almost like a chapter book. So I can read one little piece on the nights we simply do not have time(two pages side by side) or I can read the whole story (several pages) at one time. I am not having to stop in the middle of a page like I used to! I LOVE that. Plus with it being so short (and to the point, I might add), he is able to read it without getting overwhelmed.

My 5 year olds review-"I love my Bible and it talks about God and Jesus and I like the really cool pictures!"

To The Nines

To The Nines by Janet Evanovich did not disappoint.

Lula, Connie and Stephanie are off to Vegas to save a dog! Yes, I said dog, as in a four legged, hairy pet! They work together well but can they keep Stephanie safe once again????

Ranger keeps sending his men to help and protect Stephanie but one by one, they are falling out of commission in some of the funniest ways!

One of my favorite things about this series has been the cars. Stephanie can not keep a car. They get stolen, blown up, crushed, ect. To me, this is hilarious. The only car that lasts is the powder blue Cadillac.

What is your favorite part of the series so far? Can you narrow down a favorite?

Hard Eight

Whew!!! Is there any other word to describe Janet Evanovich's Hard Eight?

A mother takes her child and runs! Is there a real reason for their disappearance or is she just keeping her child to herself? I am not going to tell you, you will have to read it for yourself!!! But I WILL tell you that it is worth the read!

Lula's character really comes to life in this book and she is extremely funny and outgoing. No matter what she is doing, she makes me laugh. Whether she is being shot at, eating, running or just riding in the car, there is never a dull moment.

Stephanie is torn between Ranger and Morelli (who wouldn't be) and both are fighting to protect her and keep her safe.

Who is your favorite character, Lula or Stephanie?

Seven Up

Seven Up by Janet Evanovich is FULL of action. From kidnappings to death threats and the biggest concern of all........... Ranger makes a killer deal with Stephanie........

I personally love that Stephanie is NOT perfect. She does not look perfect, act perfect or live perfect. She is human just like the rest of us. I can really relate to how crappy her life can be at times.

Things in this book get steamy between Ranger and Stephanie and have kept me on the edge of my seat. The last page is a huge cliff hanger.... in fact, I am not sure why I am sitting here typing. I am dying to read the next book and see what happened so I am outta here!!!!!

Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus

This book is written by Mo Willems

I LOVE this children's book. The illustrations are amazing, the story line is great! I would recommend this to anyone. When I read it to my class or my son, I am easily able to animate it. I can throw a fit just like the pigeon and whine like him and it makes the kids laugh hard. They LOVE yelling "NO" every time the pigeon asks to drive the bus.

I love the way I can easily expand on the lesson of this book. I can read it quickly or I can drag it out, asking questions about what the pigeon could have or should have done.

Review from my five year old son- "This book is funny. The pigeon wants to drive the bus but I keep telling him no!"

Hot Six

Ranger is wanted for Murder and Stephanie is the one that has to bring him in!!! Hot Six by Janet Evanovich is just as hot as you would expect it to be!!!

I laughed so hard as I read this book. Stephanie taking down Ranger....... there is NO way for this NOT to be funny! Stephanie and Morelli are dating. Morelli is looking for Ranger...... Joyce is back and surprise, surprise, SHE is looking for Ranger. Add Grandma Mazur to the mix as she moves in with Stephanie and you can not help but laugh as this story unfolds.

Cupcake.......yet another word that has many meanings!!

This book is incredible. My favorite part of this series is that I can REALLY get into it. I can curl up with these books and forget that the world exists. I can be fully swept away from reality and get lost in the funny world of Stephanie Plum!

Randall Reindeer's Naughty And Nice Report

Randall Reindeer's Naughty and Nice Report by Dorothea DePrisco, Illustrated by Susan Reagan.

Follow Randall the Reindeer as he tries to help Santa by making a new naughty and nice report. Randall is a little clumsy but that just makes him charming. I was unsure of this book when I bought it but after reading it, it has quickly become one of my favorite Christmas children's books! The pictures are colorful and bight and the story line is great!

Review from my five year old son-"This reindeer book is funny. He gets stuck in wrapping paper and even in a salad. I like that Santa is in it too!"

High Five

Stephanie's Uncle is MISSING!!!!!

You KNOW this is going to be a great book! Janet Evanovich is back with Stephanie Plum in High Five.

One thing that is really funny to me is that Stephanie very rarely carries her gun. Ranger taught her how to use it (every girl's dream) but she is not comfortable with it, so she stores it, of all places, in her cookie jar. Of course Ranger hates that so it is funny to see how that plays out.

Babe- this word has sooo many meanings, all of which make me swoon!

This book really helps us understand Ranger alot better. He opens up more and gets closer to Stephanie. Of course Morelli and Ranger have a tense relationship (why wouldn't they?) which just adds more to this book and to their characters.

Now that we have seen alot of both of these men..... who is your favorite? Are you rooting for Morelli or Ranger? Which one would YOU want? Me? I am torn. I change my mind every day!

Four To Score

Janet Evanovich has become one of my favorite authors with this Plum series. Four to Score is even funnier than the last three and I see that this is a long series, so imagine my excitement to get to read all the rest of these!

In this book Stephanie's enemy (Joyce) steps in (another blast from the past) and becomes a pest, Janet Evanovich does a GREAT job making us understand this character. I feel like I know Joyce very well.

Stephanie is getting funnier with every book. The things she carries in her purse are beyond hilarious and the items that she uses to help restrain or disarm fugitives are inventive. As she roots around in her purse, I find myself giggling in anticipation to see what it will be THIS time! She never disappoints!

Morelli is back in all his glory. (Do any of you, find yourself wishing you were Stephanie?) Yum....

Ranger- the man of few words is getting closer to Stephanie (again, do any of you find yourself wishing you were Stephanie?) I think it is getting a little warm in here!!!!!

Sally Sweet enters this book. He is a transvestite musician who is full of funny lines and plays a pretty big part in this book.

This book is great, well written, fast and FULL of comedy! The perfect addition to any collection!

Let. It. Go.

Let. It. Go. by Karen Ehman, how to stop running the show and start walking in Faith, is an AMAZING book. I am ALL about control. I want to control every situation, person and event. I do not let other people help me because they might do it wrong. I want to control the weather, traffic, school schedule, EVERYTHING. So I found this book and it caught my attention.

As I read this book, I found myself relating to everything she was saying! She described ME!!!! There is a chapter that talks about marriage and as a single mom, alot of it did not apply to me,  but some of that even helped and was not overwhelming!

I have already seen a change in my behavior from this book. I have been able to let things go and stop trying to control everything. When times get hard, I simply make myself say that God is in control and I am not.It WORKS!  There are so many great points in this book and it has really changed my life. I recommend it to anyone who tries to control their life and wants to let God in!

How Do Dinosaurs Play With Their Friends?

This book is by Jame Yolen & Mark Teague. This is a VERY cute children's book. Follow these cute (not scary) dinosaurs as they learn how to play nicely with their friends. It starts off showing ways to NOT play and is comical, then it switches to the proper way to play and is educational. There is rhyming in this book (which I like) and it is a very easy book to read. It is pretty short so it makes a great quick book.

My favorite part of this book is that under each picture the kind of dinosaur is written so when my son asked me what kind of dinosaurs they were, I could tell him!!! Extra points for that! I see that this is a whole series so I will be looking for the other ones! VERY cute book!

From my 5 year old son........."I like this book alot cuz it has dinosaurs in it and I LOVE dinosaurs and I can even read it all by myself!"

Three To Get Deadly

Janet Evanovich is back with this hilarious twisting, entertaining book! Warning, Three To Get Deadly is almost impossible to put down!!! Once I started this book, I HAD to finish it that day!

In this book, Morelli is backing off and leaving Stephanie wanting more *GASP* who DOES that???? Which of course makes her jealous.

Grandma Mazur is not highlighted as much in this book like she was in the second one, though she is still around.

Lula comes more into play and we learn alot about her character. She and Stephanie get along great and make an amazing pair! This duo is laugh out loud funny!

Ranger and all his hotness is still trying to protect Stephanie and although he does not eat junk food (WHAT????) he is still an amazing character!

I am really enjoying this series so far and watching the characters grow and develop. Janet Evanovich is a GREAT writer. It is very easy to follow her stories and get completely absorbed in them!
