Her Perfect Mate by Paige Tyler

Her Perfect Mate by Paige Tyler

Description from the publisher:
Their attraction is more dangerous than any weapon of mass destruction
When Special Forces Captain Landon Donovan is chosen for an assignment with the Department of Covert Operations, he's stunned to find his new partner is a beautiful woman who looks like she couldn't hurt a fly, much less take down a terrorist.
Ivy Halliwell isn't your average covert op. Her feline DNA means she can literally bring out the claws when things get dicey. She isn't thrilled to be paired with yet another military grunt, but Landon is different. He doesn't think she's a freak-and he's smokin' hot. Soon they're facing a threat even greater than anyone imagines... and an animal magnetism impossible to ignore.

This book was pushing my comfort zone. I was not really happy to find out that she has special talents but luckily it was not too over the top or scary. This book DID have fun, excitement and energy all the way through. The missions were neat and well described and their partnership developed nicely. I was surprised to find that I really did enjoy this book!

The Chase by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

The Chase by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

Description from the publisher:
"Internationally renowned thief and con artist Nicolas Fox is famous for running elaborate and daring scams. His greatest con of all: convincing the FBI to team him up with the only person who has ever caught him, and the only woman to ever capture his attention, Special Agent Kate O’Hare. Together they’ll go undercover to swindle and catch the world’s most wanted—and untouchable—criminals.

Their newest target is Carter Grove, a former White House chief of staff and the ruthless leader of a private security agency. Grove has stolen a rare Chinese artifact from the Smithsonian, a crime that will torpedo U.S. relations with China if it ever becomes public. Nick and Kate must work under the radar—and against the clock—to devise a plan to steal the piece back. Confronting Grove’s elite assassins, Nick and Kate rely on the skills of their ragtag crew, including a flamboyant actor, a Geek Squad techie, and a band of AARP-card-carrying mercenaries led by none other than Kate’s dad.

A daring heist and a deadly chase lead Nick and Kate from Washington, D.C., to Shanghai, from the highlands of Scotland to the underbelly of Montreal. But it’ll take more than death threats, trained henchmen, sleepless nights, and the fate of a dynasty’s priceless heirloom to outsmart Fox and O’Hare."

This book caught my attention from the first page and with twists and turns all the way through, I could not put it down! Every page had something that grabbed my attention and it was very hard to find anything negative to say.

I thought the characters were believable and the story was well written. Kate is easy to side with and Nick is hilarious!  You never know what he will come up with next which is part of the fun of this book! The cover is a little boring to me but it does stand out. All in all, it was a great read and I recommend it!

Thrown For A Curve by Sugar Jamison

Thrown For A Curve by Sugar Jamison

When You're A big girl
Cherri has often wished she were thin and graceful like a ballerina instead of being a six-foot-tall blonde with curves that require serious caution. Surely a charming Irishman like her new boss Colin, with his throaty brogue and to-die-for bod, would never go for someone like Cherri. Unless maybe he’s looking for the exact opposite of a delicate lass?

there’s more of you to love
When Colin hired Cherri to work in his furniture-restoration shop, he had his eyes, first and foremost, on her artistic talents. But now he can’t help but see Cherri for the lush, spirited beauty that she is…and, soon enough, he finds himself mixing business with pleasure. But Cherri turns out to be more vulnerable than she appears. Is she in need of more than Colin can give? Or could it be that a feeling stronger than lust has him thrown for a curve?

I LOVE that this book is about a bigger woman. I am so tired of reading about perfect, skinny girls so I was happy to see that Sugar Jamison wrote another great book. For me, this book needed something else. It was a little slow moving and Colin was too old for Cherri so I found it to be kinda creepy, but that is just my opinion. Other than that, it was a good read. Cherri seems like a cute and modest girl and their story is fun.

I would love to know your opinion of this book, feel free to leave a comment!

The Way You Look Tonight by Bella Andre

I have a few childhood friends that I would love to find again so this book was really special to me. Reuniting with someone you knew when you were eight and falling in love has got to be one of the best feelings! This book goes through the story of  Rafe and Brooke. If you want to read the full description, click HERE.

I thought the characters were fun and very believable.  They way their relationship grows was fun and exciting and I LOVED when Rafe's family shows up at the right times!!! I would love to have a family like his! The cover is cute but the two people shown are not quite how I pictured Rafe and Brooke but that is not a big deal. The title is fun and the length of the book is good. I thought everything was covered very well and I was left with no doubts or questions!

I have read so many reviews of books by Bella Andre and they were all amazing reviews so I HAD to get my hands on one  so I could see for myself what all the excitement is about. I have to say, I am very pleased. I thought this book was great! It was fun and exciting from the first page to the last page and was very worth the wait. I did not even know there were so many!!! I am so excited that I will  be reading all of these books now!!!!

A Kiss by Design by Christy Hayes

A Kiss by Design by Christy Hayes

What’s a girl to do when her best friend is making a mistake? Stop him, of course.
College sophomore Emily Dilbert has been best friends with Dylan Chamberlain since they were kids. All she wants is for him to be happy and she knows him better than anyone. That’s why when she finds an engagement ring in his backpack she has to stop him from marrying the wrong girl.
Dylan Chamberlain has been in love with his brother’s girlfriend, Emily, since the second grade. When his brother asks for help planning a surprise proposal, Dylan knows it’s time to bury his feelings and finally let Emily go. Too bad his heart refuses to cooperate.
All of Emily’s attempts to lure Dylan away from his girlfriend fail, forcing her to turn up the heat on their friendship. Will Dylan reveal his long-buried secret and tell Emily how he feels? Or will Emily be forced to use any means necessary to show him the error of his ways?

This book was slow to start but got better and the story built up. There was some drama, comedy, and romance. I loved the way Emily had one plan and her roommates had another plan, that made the book in my opinion.  The characters were easy to relate to and understand and the writing style was good.  I would love to know what you thought about this book so feel free to leave a comment.

Revealed (Heat) by Joanne Rock

Revealed (Heat) by Joanne Rock

A bachelor party seems an unlikely place to find romance, until the best man runs off with the reluctant stripper…
When her costume ends up falling around her ankles in an impromptu striptease, Jackie Brady realizes she just sang to the wrong party. Somehow these bachelors weren't expecting "Happy Birthday"-even if it was a rather revealing rendition. But the steamy look in gorgeous best man Greg De Costa's eyes tells her he's more than pleased she crashed the party. So what harm would there be in accepting bachelor number two's seductive invitation?
Greg is spellbound by this sexy singer-even before she loses her costume! He definitely wants to know more about the sensual Jackie. But, through a not-so-funny twist of fate they're working together and he's vowed never to mix business with pleasure. Too bad the memory of her scorching kisses has him forgetting about his good intentions…

I LOVED this book. I found myself laughing through several parts and crying in others. Joanne Rock writes in a way that makes it easy to relate with all of the characters. I loved how these two worked together and teased each other. I found myself wishing I could sing too! Hahahaha. The very end was hilarious to me and I would love to know what you think. No it is not realistic but this is a romance book and sometimes I like it to not be realistic!

I personally feel like the cover could be better. If I were in the book store, I would not have picked this book up but other than that, it was great! I was very excited to read this book and will read it again!

Whatever You Grow Up to Be by Karen Kingsbury

Whatever You Grow Up to Be by Karen Kingsbury

I am a fan of Karen Kingsbury's adult books but I had NO idea she writes children's book! What a pleasant surprise!!! I love that she is well rounded and could not wait to get my hands on this!

This book is absolutely adorable! This story shows a little boy and his mother imagining his future. The boy is growing up and his mother supporting every career choice that they think about. Be warned, the ending is a real tear jerker for every parent out there!

This book was a fun rhyming book and was very easy to read. I LOVE the pictures. They are colorful and fun. This is a great quality book and is an excellent addition to my son's bookshelf! We will read it often.

One thing I liked  were the small Bible verses on almost every page that related to that particular page. It was a great addition to this book and makes it easier to talk about the Bible with your child.

Review from my six year old son, Max- "This book is so cool! I like that he was a fireman and an astronaut!"

Dangerous Curves Ahead Sugar Jamison

Dangerous Curves Ahead Sugar Jamison

Ellis is a large woman who owns a clothing store for large women. She is struggling to make ends meet but he main concern is making larger women find clothes that fit and make them look great. Mike is a detective and finds himself falling for Ellis but of course there are some obstacles along the way. For a full description, click HERE to go to Goodreads.

I am not a skinny girl. I am not blond, I am not perfect and to be honest, reading romance books about skinny,  blond, perfect women is getting old so I am thankful to Sugar Jamison for bringing something different to the table so to speak. Ellis is not a small woman and she was struggling through life, just like the rest of us but she is determined to make a difference and she does!

I loved the writing style and story line of this book. The cover  is catchy and the title sparked my interest. The characters were all believable and had me rooting for them! I have to admit, I am in love with Mike. He is an amazing guy! I will be adding this book to my shelf to read again!
