The Perfect Hostage by Misty Evans

The Perfect Hostage by Misty Evans

Lucie Morgan has finally found a man who doesn’t care she’s the daughter of a famous billionaire. All she needs is one weekend to convince him the crush she’s had since he rescued her from a terrorist has grown into much more.

Sergeant John Quick has seen the worst in life, both personally and professionally. He long ago decided loving someone comes at too high a price. But when the woman of his dreams “kidnaps” him for a weekend affair with no strings attached, he can’t resist.

The smoking-hot weekend turns deadly when John and Lucie are trapped during a blizzard and discover they’re not alone. Someone from their past has come hunting for revenge. Now John must become the perfect hostage in order to save Lucie’s life.

This book was short but packed full. Some romance, some mystery and some serious action. I enjoyed it very much. The cover was not very eye catchy to me. The characters were well written but not overly believable in my opinion. Overall, I did enjoy it and it was a fun read.

Four Weddings and a Break Up by Elyssa Patrick

Four Weddings and a Break Up by Elyssa Patrick

Have you ever been worried about a student bringing a gun to school? To Ginny, that was real. She was shot by her student and that changed her life. A year later, she was still struggling with guilt. One night, she had a one night stand (if you can call it that) and Wes is now determined to help Ginny through the pain and show her that she is not to blame.

This book was great all the way through. The pain and torment that Ginny feels on a daily basis radiates off the page and feels very real. There were several times that I was so caught up in the story that I forgot it was a book! There was humor as well and I loved how Ginny and Wes met. Watching their relationship grow was fun and entertaining. All of the characters were well written, and believable. I personally really enjoyed this book and did not want to put it down, I encourage you to read it and let me know what you think of it!

One Lost Sheep by Rhonda Gowler Green, Illustrated by Margaret Spengler

One Lost Sheep by Rhonda Gowler Green, Illustrated by Margaret  Spengler

The faithful shepard counts his 100 sheep and realizes that one of them is missing! Under brambles, behind rocks, the shepard looks until he finds it again. Children will delight in this fun and engaging tale as they learn that God, like the faithful shepherd is always watching over them with love and care.

This book is a simple, easy to read, rhyming book that introduces young children to the true love of Jesus. The pictures are eye catching, colorful and adorable. The story is simple and short but it is easy to expand upon depending on your child's age and attention span. All around, this is a great book and we are very happy to add this great book to our bookshelf!

Review from  my six year old son, Max-"I LOVE it! It's so cute! I like the pictures and I like the story."

Love on Location by Claire Baxter

Love on Location by Claire Baxter

Shayna is a location scout,  looking for various locations to use for a T.V. series. She comes across the PERFECT house and falls in love with it. It has everything she is looking for and even a few extra perks that her boss will love! In comes Lachlan, the grumpy, bitter home owner who refuses to let her rent his house for the show. There is some attraction between them, will they be able to work out their differences or will she have to find a different house to use?

This book was super cute. I loved all of the characters, even the mean ones. They all worked well to make this book great! I thought they were all believable and had excellent roles. The house was described beautifully and well.....I would LOVE to see it, it sounds like an amazing house!

The cover is different but catchy. I like that it is simple and I found it intriguing. This book was written very well and it is easy to understand. Some things were left to the imagination and that was a breath of fresh air. I did not want to put this book down and was sad  to see it end.

I do not want to spoil anything so I will not go into detail but I LOVED the way the last chapter was written. It was a unique and fun way to wrap up a book!

Hell For Leather by Julie Ann Walker

Hell For Leather by Julie Ann Walker

Ex-FBI, special ops, biker bar, missing uncle, men in leather and a hot chic......what more could you possibly want in a book? Delilah's uncle is missing so she enlists the help of a few guys from the bar. Will they be able to find her uncle or will they uncover some seriously life changing secrets?

This book was exciting from begging to end. There were twists and turns, suspense and romance. Parts of it made me laugh and parts of it made me cry. To me, that makes a great book. I enjoyed each and every character, including the evil ones and felt like they were all well represented.

The cover is.......hot. Do you see those arms? Whew! He can wrap those arms around me any day!  Hahahahaha!!!! This book is easy to follow and understand. There is some mystery but nothing scary. I recommend this book to you all!

Dixie Wants An Allergy by Tori Corn

Dixie Wants An Allergy by Tori Corn, Illustrated by Nancy Cote
Welcome to the Blog Tour!
It’s Dixie’s first day of school, and some of her classmates are sharing details about their various allergies. Bridget tells of her wheat allergy and how she gets to order a special meal from restaurants. Dixie thinks that must be a really special meal! And Charlie had to be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance once due to his dairy allergy. Dixie thinks that must have been thrilling! Even Hannah gets to wear a fashionable bracelet due to her peanut allergy. Dixie races home and begins to eagerly search for the slightest sign of an allergy. After many failed attempts, Dixie discovers that she is allergic to something after all. But is getting what you wish for actually as exciting as it once appeared?
Dixie Wants an Allergy provides a comical and engaging approach for children who are beginning to learn about and who are coping with allergies—and who also have trouble finding what makes them unique. Corn’s playful text and Cote’s inviting illustrations encourage children to accept those with differences while learning that wanting what others have is not always a good idea.
My son and I loved this book. He suffers allergies from pollen and he struggles through it every day so to read about other kids with allergies was great! He knows that he is not alone and I think this was a very fun way to talk about allergies. Alot of kids feel left out because they think that the bracelet or special food is fun, but the reality of it we all know is not fun.
The pictures were colorful and fun, the cover is catchy and the story was great and educational! You can't go wrong! Perfect book for teachers to read to the class!!!
Review from my six year old son, Max- "This book was so cool. I like all the different kinds of allergies and the end was really funny!"

Don't Turn The Page by Rachelle Burk

Don't Turn The Page by Rachelle Burk, Illustrated by Julie Downing

Sami does not want to go to bed (what kid does?) so mama reads her a bedtime book. As they read this book Sami is inspired and mimics what the bears do. Pretty soon Sami is done with the bedtime routine and is sound asleep.

My son and I sat down to read this book and very quickly he said "wait mommy, let me read the story part" so we were able to read it together and that was fun. I love the pictures throughout the book. They are very calming. The cover is eye catching. This would be a great addition to any child's bookshelf!

Review from my six year old son, Max- "This book is awesome! I like to read the story part. The title is funny. My mommy and I kept saying DON'T TURN THE PAGE!"
